Well that’s not entirely true when it comes to the 4 Hour Regularity Challenge, a multi club relay event with participants from a wide variety of car clubs. In this instance, fast and steady wins the race, as you and your team members strive to post consistent lap times, and lots of them! On a clear track this wouldn’t seem a tough ask… HOWEVER add in an array of eclectic track traffic, and this takes the task of consistency to a whole new level!
This year NINEAUTO has 3 teams entered into the Liqui Moly Sandown 240 Relay on Sunday 30th April. NINEAUTO’s participating Porsches vary in vintage and model. With drivers too varying in vintage and experience… for some drivers this is their first ever run in a regularity event. For all competitors the greatest challenge is likely to be choosing consistency over the fun of driving in the moment! Lap times and results are likely to reveal decisions made…
In the lead up to the event a strategy gathering was held at NINEAUTO with much banter and a few beers. This was then followed by a more serous Porsche Club of Victoria meeting for Team Managers highlighting the rules and regs.
So as I write this post on the evening before the event… drivers will be busy applying lucky race numbers to their cars, and hopefully packing their bags using the ‘NINEAUTO race day checklist’. Good luck to all the entrants…. steady (and fast) as you go!
Watch out for the next post on how the NINEAUTO teams performed.
