At the most recent 6 hour regularity event, scrutineers picked up at least 6 competitors presenting with fake race harnesses! These drivers had to rush to find replacement harnesses before they were permitted to go on the track…
It seems most of these fakes came from Ebay, but apparently some are also available from Australian retailers. The pricing of these fake harnesses at around $120 makes them attractive compared to the genuine harnesses at $450+, but they aren’t fit for purpose and leave drivers at risk.
